There are two parts to a Skills Assessment application.

In order to enter Australia under a Skilled Migration Visa, it is a requirement for some visas that your skills are assessed via a points system. A Skills Assessment includes: evaluating your qualifications and employment against the criteria of the nominated occupation in Australia. A positive assessment result is required to apply for a migration visa.

How to prepare for the initial stage of an application:

One Recent Passport Photo
This can include either a Passport or Birth Certificate.
Please provide any Qualifications and copies of certificates gained throughout your career.
When presenting your employment evidence you must provide the following:
- Your full name
- The hours you worked per week.
- Your official position held at the organisation where you worked.
- The exact period of your employment in each position held
- Description of your primary duties for each position you held
- Payslips from the salary you earned
A resume should document your employment history from the start of your career till the current day.
Fees will be discussed when preparing your lodgement.
Some authorities ask for English results or licencing.
NEGATIVE SKILLS ASSESSMENT OUTCOME, REVIEW AND RE-LODGEMENT
When applying for a Skills Assessment, sometimes you may receive a negative outcome. This may be a result of not providing sufficient information in your documentation. In particular, to do with reference letters from employers outlining duties, as well as providing proof of two forms of payment as evidence of previous employment.
There is, however, an opportunity to re-lodge your application and have this re-assessed. At Stojanovic & Associates, we offer reviews of the negative outcome of your prior application to see whether you should apply for a re-assessment. We can also assist you with collating the correct documentation and assisting you to re-apply.
A negative outcome doesn't have to be the end of your application but instead an opportunity to gather any documentation needed to re-apply. Processing times change from time to time depending on the skills assessment authority and cannot be confirmed.
In order to reach the criteria for some Visas additional points can be acquired via such things as PTE training and CCL assessment, which give you the chance to boost your Skills Assessment.
You can apply for more than one skills assessment with any number of assessing authorities. For up-to-date information, it's always best to check with the relevant skills assessment authority.
